We become God's living sanctuary, rebuilding the altar of prayer, the altar of incense. In the word of God, incense symbolizes prayers rising to God as a pleasing aroma, representing reverence and dedication. The incense also represents one’s spiritual ascension into the presence of God, deep intimacy and communion with the one true and living God our heavenly Father.

Prayer must play a central role in the life of God's people.

There is no correct or certain posture for prayer. In the Bible people prayed on their knees (1 Kings 8:54 - And so it was, when Solomon had finished praying all this prayer and supplication to the Lord, that he arose from before the altar of the Lord, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven), bowing (Exodus 4:31), on their faces before God (2 Chronicles 20:18; Matthew 26:39), and standing (1 Kings 8:22). Just as Jesus prayed with His eyes lifted toward heaven, we too can pray with your eyes opened or closed, quietly or out loud—in whatever way you are led, seek not to become ritualistic or religious.

Genesis 20:1-7 - first mention of Abraham as prophet and prophet instructed to pray. Watchmen Arise!
